Glen Ellen Country Club first opened for play in 1962. The course was re-designed by Ron Pritchard in 2001.
The terrain varies from gently rolling to hilly, and the fairways are somewhat open.
Glen Ellen Country Club completed a multi-million dollar facelift in May 2001. This 18-hole course received a new irrigation system, 24 new or remodeled bunkers, and a teeing ground expansion and leveling. Seven fairways were remodeled, changing their direction and cut, and 5 holes received brand new fairway bunkers. A new green and accompanying bunker complex was added on the 3rd hole, and 80% of the paths were redone.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,633 yards. From the front tees the course plays to 5,148 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 10, a par-5 that plays to 521 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 8, a par-3 that plays to 144 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 1, a 448 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole at Glen Ellen Country Club. The easiest hole is # 18, a 155 yard par-3.
